The website promoting the upcoming Transformers The Ride at Universal Studios in Hollywood is going live this weekend and users will be able to play games to win various prizes, according to an email sent out. The website, www.PrepareForBattle.com, which has been hosting communiques from General Morshower, will launch this weekend where players can win numerous prizes, including exclusive Transformers art, numbered collectible embroidered badges, and a trip to N.E.S.T. headquarters located in Culver City, CA. Take a look at a promotional video in the full article.
Shout! Factory has confirmed that they will be replacing two discs from the Transformers Japanese Collection that have incorrect subtitles, which we have heard about from multiple people who have purchased this set. "We are moving quickly to fix [the subtitle] errors and manufacture two replacement discs for your set and will ship them to you in about two weeks," the company wrote in an email sent to customers. If you purchased the set from the Shout! store, replacement discs will automatically be shipped to your previously-identified shipping address.
Transformers Bot Shots are a cool new way to play with Transformers. The miniature vehicles transform instantly into their robot alter egos on impact. Changing Optimus Prime from robot to vehicle takes just three easy steps, and the pieces click into place. As a truck, when Optimus runs into an obstacle, he will pop back into robot mode. Check out the video preview of the figure after the jump.
UPDATE: We have added a hi-res image of the Shockwave HISS Tank. Buried deep in the announcement of their upcoming GI Joe Retaliation toyline, Hasbro Inc reveals that they will be offering Shockwave HISS Tank as a San Diego Comic Con exclusive. Continuing the practice from last year when the company offered the extremely popular GI Joe Transformers Starscream Sky Striker and Cobra Commander, the company is offering the GI Joe Pursuit of Cobra HISS Tank with Shockwave's trademark purple color, complete with a large Decepticon insignia emblazoned on either side of the tank as well as the nose. In one of the waves of the Transformers Prime Revealers (previously Deluxe) this year, a new, previously unknown character named Dead End will be released, according to a new (and now taken down) pre-order page from UK retailer Toyz and Gamez. This character has not yet been revealed on the show, which may explain why the pre-order is now gone. In addition to this pre-order page, other Revealers that went up and down several hours later include Airrachnid and Hot Shot. We learned of Airrachnid's impending release from a leaked Takara Tomy product sheet and Argos fully leaked Hot Shot late last month.
If I'm not mistaken, this is at least the second or third Decepticon Megatron's supposed to be terrified of, or at least wary. Let's see... Straxus/Darkmount and Thunderwing, too. Megatron's quite the worrier, it seems! Sky Shadow is about as obscure a figure as you're going to get in Generations: while Darkmount was based on a US comic character and Thunderwing a US-released toy with a lot of fiction behind it, Sky Shadow is from Transformers: Victory, a Japanese-only release. Thanks to Kapow Toys, we have learned that Hasbro will be releasing Shockwave, Jazz, and Optimus Prime as a tie into the Transformers Fall of Cybertron video game. This is similar to when Hasbro released select deluxe class figures based on the Transformers War for Cybertron designs under the Generations toyline a couple of years back. While Kapow does not list a specific series for these toys, another UK retailer Toyz and Gamez lists the figures under the Generations line. The figures are set for a May 2012 release, according to Kapow, ahead of the Fall of 2012 release date for the video game. We do not have images of the figures just yet, but we are expecting some first looks at the figures at Toy Fair 2012, where we will be reporting live on February 11th! Which figures do you want to see from the game? Let us know in the comments!
Thanks to BBTS who have posted a new product listing for the Kabaya Gum Plus Transformers Series 05 candy toys / gachaphon figures. Series 5 will include Deathsaurus, War for Cybertron Optimus Prime and a G1 Firetruck mold that looks to be Hot Spot. Get a look at the box and the protype figures in robot and alternate modes. These guys come randomly packed 8 figures to a case for about $45 USD. Look for them to ship in spring of 2012.
BigBadToyStore have also jumped into the fray with new listings for the Takara Tomy Transformers Prime Japan action figures that will feature the addition of the Arms Micron action figures. BBTS has posted pre-orders for these figures including everything AM-01 Optimus Prime to the AM-14 Bicon figures that you see listed now at bigbadtoystore.com.
UPDATED with new image Our sponsor Robotkingdom dropped by just a little bit ago and let us know that they just put up a pre-order for a case of 300 Transformers Prime Arms Micron Capsule figures from Takara Tomy. While we have been hearing about the Micron figures for a while now, including new solicitations of deluxe and voyager class figures, we have not known definitively until now that we will be able to purchase the Arms Microns separately. A case breakdown is unavailable at this time, but we will pass down more information as we learn more. We also see in the image from Robotkingdom that the Microns, like certain Microns from the Armada, Energon, and Cybertron era, will be able to combine. The figures are set for a May 2012 release.
Fan outrage at the cancelation of Prime First Editions, Autocracy #2 reviewed, favorite Transformers gimmicks, TFCC exclusives and more.
Now that we know that unreleased Transformers Prime First Edition figures will not see the light of day, and the rest of the early waves will not get restocked, it may be a little hard to find the figures from the First Edition that you want. But, some of the figures, like Cliffjumper, will be released in the regular Robots In Disguise line, but is a completely different figure. Thanks to Azrail, we have a very nice comparison gallery, which should help you decide whether to buy the mass release Cliffjumper, or hunt down the First Edition version. Continue reading...
Fun Publications is once again taking pre-orders for the Transformers Collectors Club exclusive figures Over-Run and Shattered Glass Drift after some technical difficulties a couple of days ago that forced its suspension. If you placed a pre-order a couple of days ago for these figures and club t-shirts, it is best that you check your account to make sure your order went through last time. If not, take the time to place your order again. For the full list, complete with pictures of the merchandise that is available for pre-order, check out this gallery. Pre-order at the TCC club store.
TFsource does it again with first looks at the official Takara Tomy solicitations for the Transformers Prime Japan EZ class action figures. The images show us looks at what is known as the legion class figures here in the USA spanning the full line up of characters from the series including a few new names: Evac, Breakdown, Dreadwing, and Ironhide! Some of these look quite good considering the smaller and more limited articulation. The Bulkhead figure is especially impressive looking. Get a look at these figure images are the jump. |
